What We Offer

We first became excited about Silverlight when we saw a pre-release version in early 2008. Even then it was being described by some as a 'Flash killer.' With subsequent updates and the news that it was to be one of the technologies underlying apps for Windows Phone 7, it has really come of age.

Most users of applications won't even know Silverlight is there - it's a 'transparent technology' that provides users with a richer, more sophisticated technology experience.

Governor was an early Silverlight adopter and as a Microsoft Certified Partner, we had early access to Silverlight before its general release. We released our much played Creme Egg Game (below) in Easter 2008 and Santapede a year later and have since built a number of solutions for different clients, including Microsoft. We are also using Silverlight to develop apps for the new Windows Phone 7 platform now used in Microsoft and Nokia smartphones.

The Creme Egg Challenge

CremeEggGame
This fun game (which you can play HERE) was an early step for us into what was, at the time, a largely untried Silverlight technology. We also used the game's release to hone our viral marketing skills: the game was sent out in an email, the recipient activity for which we could track. Adding a highest score prize to the game mailing contributed to the high response rates and allowed us to harvest the contact details of those entering the competition.

Santapede Silverlight Game

Santapede, in homage to the great 80's arcade classic 'Centipede', was created as a Christmas 2009 competition for our clients. We also created a Facebook app version of the game. Built in Silverlight 3, designing it taught us a lot about this new technology's characteristics.  For example, beta versions of the game played at different speeds on different computers - allowing players on slower computers to rack up very large scores!  Extensive technical jiggery pokery with the graphics acceleration removed this Santapede arbitrage opportunity. Santapede is available to be rebranded for client promotions.
