Get in Shape for the Summer with Bodystyler
We have recently finished development of a brand new Silverlight application for MSN Netherlands called Bodystyler (http://bodystyler.nl.msn.com).
Bodystyler is designed to help people lose weight over a period of weeks through customised diet and exercise recommendations.
Visitors to the site select an avatar based on height and current measurements, and decide how much they want to lose.
The application uses Windows Live ID to store individual settings so that when they return to the site it remembers where they should be in their plan and presents relevant content like recipe suggestions and exercises.
The avatar also shows a visualisation of the weight loss over time - which is achieved through a calculation of the users changing Body Mass Index.
It is currently only available in Dutch but if it proves popular it could be rolled out to new languages and countries with relative ease.
