We Win Microsoft 2011 Cloud Hack Challenge - Yay!

A team of Governor Technology developers travelled to Moorgate in June to do battle in an intensive cloud hack. The challenge: design and build a killer app from scratch and then deploy it to the Cloud in only 4 hours!
The aim of Cloud Hack 2011, sponsored by
Microsoft, was simple: teams of developers work to 'hack' an
application using data from popular API's such as Bing Maps,
National Rail Enquiries, Paypal and Huddle. (An API being a set of
rules and specifications that software programs can follow to
communicate with each other). Once created, the compeititors were
then to deliver their app to the Azure cloud platform.
Using the National Rail Enquiries API, the Governor Technology team of three created a 'Road vs Rail' App which compares the time taken to reach a destination, from postcode to postcode, using the two means of transport, with added visualisation on a map using HTML5.
We're proud to say the Governor the team worked very hard and, against stiff competition, won the competition. Find out more about our Cloud Computing services.
