Bespoke Management Information System

CSS Partners offer investment management and corporate finance services to private investors.

They needed to replace a series of spreadsheets with a complete client management system which would enable them to manage sales, opportunities and client communications in a single web based application. The system also needed to be mindful of FSA regulatory requirements.

As part of an initial Scoping Phase we spent several days capturing their processes and information needs. This was the first time they had ever articulated their processes in this way.

It quickly became clear that no off the shelf applications were suitable for the task, and that a bespoke solution would be required. This would also have a strategic advantage of creating a system over which they would have absolute control.

Having completed the Scoping Phase and produced a system design, we were able begin building the solution using agile development techniques. This approach allowed CSS Partners to have the highest priority parts of the system available for use soonest. It also allowed them to assess each component part of the solution as it came into use.
