Aston Lloyd CRM System

Aston Lloyd & Partners International Ltd is a property investment company dedicated to sourcing, building and presenting clients with the finest real estate investments across the globe.

In 2008 they were experiencing problems with the performance of their Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, and came to Governor for some advice about alternative solutions.

Following an initial analysis it became clear that their installed system could no longer cope with either the sheer numbers of contacts they had or the need to capture more complex data and business process requirements.

We looked at options for a replacement solution, balancing budgetary requirements against a desire to take more strategic control over a new system, so it could play a much more central role in the day to day operations of the company.

As a result we recommended a hybrid solution that used an open source CRM framework for the core functionality, which could then be customised to meet the company's very individual requirements.

Using open source code as a starting point resulted in a greatly reduced development time frame, and cost, compared with a fully bespoke solution.  So the customer was able to get a replacement system in place very quickly.

The other open source advantage was that we were able to completely customise the application.  By creating a new range of different user roles and permissions, custom data fields, reports and mail merge functionality, Governor Technology was able produce a solution fully integrated with the client's business processes.

All of this was achieved for the same cost as the annual license fee for a well known hosted service, with the added benefit to the client of having control over an important strategic company information resource.  So over the lifetime of the product, our solution not only suits their requirements better, it should prove to be much more cost effective.
