A Short History of Governor Technology
Governor Technology was founded in 2001 by Cambridge University alumnus John Mannix, with a vision to provide high quality bespoke development services. He was soon joined by Gilbert Hill, a fellow Cambridge graduate with a background in the financial services industry.
Together they built a team of experienced developers who had mostly met whilst working together on contract assignments and shared their ideals.
The company has grown steadily ever since, and the team is now made up of some 20 full time staff, based at our Waterloo offices in Central London.
In 2005 we were delighted to be granted the status of Microsoft Certified Partner, in recognition of our professionalism, training and skills with key Microsoft technologies.
Among other benefits for both us and our customers, this means we get access to pre-release versions of new software so we are ready to help customers when it is released to the rest of the world.
In 2008 this has enabled us to become one of the first companies in the UK to develop skills in Silverlight 2.0, the newest platform developed by Microsoft for creating media rich interactive web applications. We are now a preferred supplier of Silverlight application development to Microsoft’s own content portal MSN.
We are still an owner managed business and believe very strongly that the continuity of vision and values that John and Gilbert have sustained throughout our growth are central to both our past and future success.
