Play golf online – courtesy of ALG and Governor!

Armstrong Laing PLC is a major provider of budgetary and planning software to clients including British Airways, American Express and the US Department of Labour.  Over the past few years Governor Technology has rebuilt ALG’s corporate websites and continues to provide technical support.

ALG recently wanted to expand their reach and raise their online profile in an entertaining way.  They achieved this by providing an online game of golf.  Users compete to drive the furthest from the tee, with a leader board and prizes for the top players.  Although fun, the game has a serious side too; it enables ALG to collect data from users regarding their working roles and relationship with ALG.

Governor took the basic game and integrated it into the existing website.  We built mechanisms for collecting, securely storing and distributing information on its usage.  The game continues to be popular among ALG’s customers and keen golfers alike!
